mike mulligan, consider yourself replaced.

There’s a new book in town that has put little w. to sleep twice in a row now–Calef Brown’s Flamingos on the Roof.  And the best part is that it doesn’t put me to sleep while I read it!

Our current favorite poem–“Poseidon’s Hair”

Poseidon’s head was nearly bald,

much to his dismay.

He picked some kelp,

and with some help,

he made his own toupee.

Although it smells of oyster shells

and often floats away,

old Poseidon loves his hair–

he wears it every day.

I mean, what’s not to like about the an illustration where Poseidon sports a tattoo?
