what the kids are listening to these days

A trip to the downtown Durham library yesterday yielded a bonanza of musical treats.  For the next 20 days, we have in our possession some fine tunes ranging from “The Royal Tenenbaums” soundtrack to a little Neil Diamond, and I am pleased to report that I can still sing effortlessly along with many of his 12 Greatest Hits–a few of which are under suspicion of being greatly hyperbolized as “the greatest.”

Anyhow, I have decided to make this U2 song off of “The Joshua Tree” album my children’s new theme song as it seems to apply to many of our daily interactions.  “Where are my shoes?  Have you seen duck?  What did you do with my firetrucks?”

Part of me, however, thinks that Bono has been looking a little harder than my children ever had or will.
