thank you, martha

On Thursday, I awoke in a panic realizing that it was my son’s birthday, and I had neither bought him any gifts nor done any preparation for his birthday party.

And then I remembered my crafty folder, the one in which I save emails of different projects to tackle on that proverbial rainy day.

Enter the pinwheel.

After much cursing and sighing, my mom and I mastered this pinwheel.  Now I just need to find away to make the stick pin a little more child friendly, and we’ll have an excellent project on our hands.

Every good party needs some hats, and this little creation fit the bill.  I told my mom to expect more adults to wear the hats than kids, and my family did not disappoint.

Thank god I now have another 10 months to accumulate new party ideas.
