why did the guinea cross the road?

The absolute highlight of our trip to Old Salem last week:


You would have thought a penguin-llama-wombat hybrid had wandered across the street for the level of excitement the kids displayed for these fowl.

Runner up for excitement:


Scaring the old ladies while crossing the covered bridge by the visitor’s center.

Honorable mention:


The brick wall by Winkler Bakery.  “Mama!  There’s a brick in the litte hole!!”

All I have to say, is thank goodness that we didn’t buy tickets.  The museums couldn’t have compared to the excitement on the streets of Old Salem.
